Part of IDEALIST Premium Rough collection, the Charlie embraces a 'less is more' philosophy that celebrates the raw, tactile character of handmade fibreclay. Its surface carries the subtle irregularities and washed texture of the production process: faint variations in tone, gentle undulations in the clay, marks that speak of human hands rather than machine precision.

Material & Craftsmanship

Each Charlie is hand-formed from fibreclay, a composite of natural clay and reinforced fibres that delivers the warmth and texture of traditional ceramics with superior durability. The material is lightweight yet substantial, frost-resistant to -20°C, and UV-stable for year-round outdoor use.

The 'washed' finish is achieved during production, creating a soft, matte surface with natural tonal variation. Please note: colours may vary slightly between individual pots due to the handmade process. This means no two Charlies are identical, each carries its own unique character, making it a singular piece rather than a mass-produced replica.

Available in four muted, earthy tones: Black, Grey, Beige, Taupe. Each colour reads differently depending on light and angle, adding depth and interest throughout the day.

Designed as a Cachepot

The Charlie has no drainage holes by design. It functions as a decorative outer pot (cachepot): keep your plant in its nursery pot, place it inside, and the thick rim conceals the plastic edge for a seamless presentation.

This approach makes seasonal rotation effortless and protects delicate flooring from water marks. For outdoor use, the planter performs beautifully on patios, balconies, and windowsills, its frost resistance ensures it withstands British winters without cracking.

Waterproof Sizes: all diameters up to 23 cm are fully waterproof and suitable for direct planting or extended outdoor exposure.
