OUTSIDE

If the products are placed outside, it is important to drill holes in the bottom of the pots so that water can drain away and the pots don’t break when there is frost. Feet can also help with this (you can ask an advisor to assist you with this product’).

  • Drill holes in the bottom of your pot. Use an 8–10mm metal/wood drill for this.

  • Drill a number of holes, depending on the size of the item.

  • Cover the holes with mesh so that they cannot become clogged.

  • Ensure that pots without feet can stand a little above the ground. This can be done by using separate feet or a water dish.

  • If you place the pot directly on its bottom, we advise you to drill holes in the side rather than in the bottom, preferably 5–10 cm above the ground.

  • To prevent the drill bit slipping during drilling, place a piece of duct tape at the place where you want to drill the hole.

  • Put the planter in the desired location and fill it to one-third with hydro pellets. The hydro pellets ensure good water retention in the pot so that your plant can grow better.

  • Fill the remaining two-thirds of the pot with potting mix and place your plant in the container.

  • Finally, you might like to cover the soil with a decorative layer of hydro pellets, bark or another ground cover.

  • Do not move the planter after filling it. The weight of the hydro pellets, soil and the planter may cause the pot to become damaged upon moving it.

INDOORS:

  • If the item is to be placed in your home or office, make sure to use an inner container/liner in it. The units are not 100% watertight.

  • Put the planter in the desired location and line it with a sleeve or some pond plastic. This prevents leaks and damage to the surface on which the pot is placed.

COLOUR AND CLEANING

The Black Fiberstone colour planters (colour code 01) can be treated four times per year with our special maintenance oil. This oil preserves the black colour. Please use this maintenance oil to prolong the life of your product at minimum of 1-2 times a year.

In addition, using a dry cloth or a sponge with soapy water is enough to wipe away mineral deposits and dirt off surface proving a clean and fresher look.
